sensitive
After riding Sundance for several weeks now I have learned a lot about the kind of horse she is. First off she is kind at heart, and willing. I have noticed that the less pressure you use to ask her to do something the more she likes it and relaxes, this is what will prevent any future bucking. She also has a very busy mind and it is important to keep it busy with tasks and what we are doing. If I leave her to her own vices she will slowly slip away mentally and get into trouble. She is the kind of horse that I have to support constantly or she will feel un-confident. I feel after she gains a lot more experience and confidence she will be the kind of horse that will take care of her rider but right now she is the kind that needs the rider to take care of her. Once I got her feeling that she could trust me and I wouldn't put too much pressure on her and that I was handling things she started to settle down a lot. Once settled she has been learning rather quickly. she stops well, she is starting to turn around come off my leg nicely and a lot of things. I would still prefer her to be softer through out her entire body but we are working toward that. Until Next time God Bless,BW

Sundance
I am very impressed with the progress that I have seen from Sundance thus far. I must say that she has shown me that she is very smart horse. When I first started riding her I noticed that she was very reactive and uncertain. She was stiff throughout her body and didn't have too much flex. As soon as I got on I gave her one task, go forward, just go forward. I didn't worry about working on too much else until she did that well and relaxed. I like to make horses just move forward because it is something that they understand and it helps them to feel good because they can move their feet and they relax eventually. Once we were moving well I have started working on getting her soft through out her body. I have been working on side passing, flexing at the poll, and generally trying to bend her around my leg. I always approach it with the hint, ask, tell, demand sequence always offering the best possible deal first then building up. She has a long way to go in trusting the world, and softening up her body but I am confident that she will gain quickly. Until Next time God Bless, BW
